The Bandstand Project started in 2024 and is ongoing. It aims to document and archive the sounds of empty bandstands from around the world.
Every entry in The Bandstand Project includes a description, photographs, map, and audio recordings, all of which are tagged and searchable. The bandstands are recorded using a variety of techniques and equipment with the intention of creating pieces of music or soundscapes that capture the bandstands’ character, history, and use.
